House of Hope

Providing housing for the disabled and
at-risk children in Gracias a Dios, Honduras

The House of Hope provides a Christ-centered home where children and youth can feel safe and secure while completing their educational goals. It is home to 30-35 at-risk children and youth in the city of Puerto Lempira, Honduras.

The Children’s Home

The children’s home contains two wings, boys and girls, that each contain 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Between the 2 wings is a large great room (the sala), and a kitchen. Out back is an outdoor stove and pila for washing clothes.

Guest House

The guest house sits across the yard from the children’s’ home. It contains five rooms that can house 28 volunteers. Our group sizes typically range from 20 people to single volunteers. Send a message today to learn how to bring a group and stay at the House of Hope.

 

Escuela Casa Esperanza

Escuela Casa Esperanza or House of Hope school is located across a dirt road from the main campus. While Send Hope purchased the land and built the school, it is loaned free to the government to conduct classes as a public elementary school.

Send Hope helps provide firewood, Kids Against Hunger rice, school supplies, and maintenance for the school.

Dental Clinic

We have a fully functioning dental clinic on the property where our founder, Dr. Tom Brian, is able to treat our kids during his visits, as well as children at other homes in the area.

 

Bodegas

The property contains a total of 6 bodegas, or storage units, that are able to store clothes, shoes, school & medical supplies, Habitat for Humanity tools and materials, and supplies for medical brigades that work in our area.
