Katrina Jo Ryan Engle

Katrina was the director of the House of Hope from it's opening in 2005 until 2015 when she returned to the United States to battle an aggressive form of brain cancer. In July 2017, Katrina danced into Heaven and we are confident she's had Jesus laughing ever since. She was the mother to three of her own children, but “Mama Miriki” to thousands more. Her faith was steadfast and unwavering even through a difficult battle with cancer. The absence of Katrina’s laughter, jokes and sometimes quirky ideas leave a hole in our hearts, but her presence is still felt in the community and at the House of Hope. She was the pioneer and visionary for the House of Hope, along with founder Dr. Tom Brian. Katrina loved Jesus, people, plants, coffee, and chocolate chip cookies. We are grateful and honored to carry on her legacy!
